WebSphere Portal breaktime...

Category None

A short break in the WP action today, as I wrapped up three presentations for Advisor Devcon (Fort Lauderdale, Florida, November 3-7).  I'll be delivering the Jumpstart on WebSphere Portal mentioned a few days ago, plus three regular sessions under the "Read More..." link.  There's a $200 discount available through September 30.  If this is the first place you've heard about the discount, well then you can owe me dinner!  The keynote this time will be shared with concurrent conferences, and looks awesome - Story Musgrave, NASA astronaut and scientist will deliver a talk on "Crisis to Cure: What Do You Do When the Mission is Critical?"

Also, I finished up final edits to my article on Domino, Dreamweaver and WebDAV for the November issue of Advisor.  WebDAV, an extension of the HTTP protocol, is quite secretly supported in Domino 6 and the secure, distributed model of team development with Dreamweaver is just amazing.  The entire team at SNAPPS uses it for our Domino, QuickPlace and Sametime development projects, and it's cut our development time and code coordination extensively.  Someday, I'll post the entire process here.  Until then, you have to read the magazine<g>.

Team Development Strategies with Domino 6, WebDAV, and Dreamweaver
11/04/2003 11:15 AM
This session introduces Domino's native design locking feature, defines and describes an IETF protocol called WebDAV, explains how they work together, and how you can use them with Macromedia Dreamweaver or another WebDAV-compliant tool to enable your Web design teams with Domino 6. This combination of a Domino 6 feature, a protocol, and a best-of-breed design tool is a productivity booster not to be ignored, as it lends scalability to your development team. Join Rob Novak from SNAPPS and learn how his team works together seamlessly with this combination, and how to enable your own Web development teams with secure, remote development capabilities with best-of-breed tools.
