Collaboration University is a Wrap, UKLUG is in Full Swing...Week 3 of Road Trip
As Collaboration University 2008 - London comes to a close, with as great a time as we've all had the past two weeks (and a big thanks to George, Tim, Lewis, and the other IBMers who pitched in), it's all go for UKLUG on Thursday and Friday. Warren and gang have done a bang-up job of organizing UKLUG . Liz and I are helping work the registration desk, and I'm reprising my ILUG role of unofficial photographer.
Then, back to Miami for LoLA on Sunday! The Lotus Leadership Alliance conference in Hollywood, Florida is a first-time gathering of several customer councils with IBM executives to explore the path Lotus has taken and is taking with strategy and products. I'll be there with two other SNAPPS folks fulfilling our responsibilities as members of the Lotus Global Customer Partnership Council (GCPC). it doesn't hurt that one of the welcome receptions is on the beach!
So day 15 on the road, and while I long for some time with my son and a good BBQ on the deck, to drive my own car and watch my ridiculously large TV, the travel has been good so far. The hotel here in London is wonderful - we have a suit with a river view of the Thames, and Parliament and Big Ben are lit up straight out the window at night. A rickety and slanted (or was it just Bill Buchan? One has to ask) boat bar is across the Albert Embankment (the street), so unfrozen fish and chips are minutes away. Having partaken of that once, we've since limited it to beers there and gone twice to Belgo Centraal for great dinners with friends.
So thanks once again to all speakers, IBMers and especially the attendees at CU this year for filling the rooms and all the great feedback on the events. We're looking forward to next year already!
