Lotus Rock Star

1 - Like the new features in the upgrade, now works for me via our office network (proxy issues before I think) as well as from home.

Played with it on a Mac and also ubuntu. Same look and feel and works well.

Seems faster than the Lotus Quickr Connector and windows file explorer.

Like the way it upgrades, much easier than upgrading the Quickr connector client.

Is the ability to view documents directly from the application rather than having to download them first on the development road map?

All in all an interesting application.

2 - Hi Tony, and thanks for the comments. At some point we'll post some interesting factoids about the speed and reasons you see differences there. But to be clear, PandaBear isn't meant to "compete" with the connectors but to complement them and give you an option for deploying simple secure file sharing without heavier Windows desktop installs.

As for viewing documents, or launching them, we have an issue with the platform security - Adobe Air & Flash have a security sandbox model that doesn't interact with the file system of the local machine. So, it can't launch a file in its native application. That said, there are online "viewer" options we are considering and investigating as well, to keep the experience inside PandaBear.

3 - Promising app! Unfortunately, the current version 0.53 only seems to open up to the first 10 items in a folder at a time (this is on J2EE Quickr 8.1.0). Is there any way to fix this?
