Round 2
Category Collaboration UniversityAfter a successful first week in Chicago, I took the train to O'Hare and the overnight flight to London's Heathrow, then a black cab to the offices of The Turtle Partnership. Fortunately for everyone involved from the pilot to my seatmates to the cabbie and most importantly the Turtles, I had late checkout in Chicago and was able to shower right before leaving! Upon arrival discovered three new registrations for Collaboration University in London so out with the badge paper, VPN to the accounting system, and I may have averted the annual "oh no someone else is coming Monday, go buy a color printer!" scramble. Not that I wouldn't like to be proven wrong, but it is a bit funny to have a printer set up in my hotel room for a week.
I stayed the night at the home of Mike and Sue Smith, Mike being a director at Turtle and fellow member of Penumbra, OpenNTF Alliance, and the Lotus Business Partner Advisory Council (BPAC). Mike has handled all the preparations for CU London but will for the first time not be with us next week - he is representing Turtle at the Lotus Leadership Alliance (LoLA) meeting in Cambridge. The other one.
We're now on our way from Turtle's offices to the hotel and venue for some setup with Tim Clark of IBM and will be working into the night on the labs and workshops which are fully subscribed now. Another conveyance awaits over the weekend as I take the London Underground to dinners, a few sights, and more than likely an office supply shop. For a printer.
Cheers!
